Disciples Formed by Jesus Christ

During this first week, the focus centers around discipleship rooted in Jesus Christ. We may find it is easy to say we are followers of Jesus Christ, but we follow to become like Jesus. As Paul writes in Ephesians 4:15, “we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ...” As Wesleyans, we understand this growth as part of sanctifying grace, the Holy Spirit’s ongoing presence and work that—with our cooperation—forms us to be more and more like Christ. Our discipleship doesn’t happen just on Sundays; it happens every day!
